Councillor Parth Gupta joined residents of Ward 6 to celebrate India's Independence Day, taking part in a community programme held in Sector 17, Panchkula. Sharing a message from the occasion, the Ward 6 representative described it as a moment steeped in patriotism and love for the nation, and said he marked the day together with people from the area.

A neighbourhood comes together in Sector 17

The Independence Day programme was organised in Sector 17, part of the Ward 6 area that Parth Gupta serves on the Panchkula municipal council. Rather than observing the day from a distance, the councillor was present among local residents, celebrating alongside them as the neighbourhood honoured the national occasion.

According to his account of the gathering, those who took part came together in a spirit of patriotism and national pride, with local residents and their elected representative sharing in the observance side by side.

A shared pledge for the nation

A central moment of the event, as Parth Gupta described it, was a shared resolve among those present to move forward together for the unity, integrity and prosperity of the country — a pledge that speaks to the enduring themes of Independence Day.

The councillor's message closed with the salute "Jai Hind" and echoed the wider Har Ghar Tiranga sentiment associated with Independence Day in neighbourhoods across India. For Ward 6, the Sector 17 gathering offered residents a chance to mark the day close to home, in the company of their neighbours and their ward representative.

By joining the celebration in person, Parth Gupta underlined his connection to the day-to-day life of Ward 6 and to the residents he represents in Panchkula. Community observances of this kind give people across the city a shared space to reflect on the nation's freedom and to renew a sense of common purpose.
