Parth Gupta Marks Gyan Chand Gupta's Birthday with Hawan and Langar Seva

Councillor Parth Gupta of Ward 6 in Panchkula marked a deeply personal occasion with an act of community service, organising a Hawan (sacred fire ritual) and a Langar Seva (community meal service) to celebrate the birthday of Shri Gyan Chand Gupta, his grandfather and a former Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly).

Sharing the moment, Parth Gupta described Shri Gyan Chand Gupta as his respected grandfather and offered prayers for his good health, long life and continued service to the public.

Prayer and community service

The observance brought together two traditions that sit at the heart of local community life. The Hawan, a Vedic fire ceremony, invoked blessings, while the Langar Seva carried that spirit outward through a community meal served in the tradition of seva, or selfless service.

For Parth Gupta, pairing a family milestone with an act of open community service reflected the values he has sought to carry forward as a Ward 6 councillor: faith, family and a commitment to serving people. The day underlined the idea that celebration and giving can go hand in hand.

Blessings for a life of public service

In his message, Parth Gupta prayed to God for his grandfather's good health, longevity and the ability to continue serving society. Shri Gyan Chand Gupta's standing as a former Speaker of the Legislative Assembly lends that wish added meaning, linking a lifetime of public duty with the younger generation now working at the ward level in Panchkula.

The pairing of Hawan and Langar Seva reflects how such milestones are often observed: not merely as personal celebrations, but as occasions to bring people together and to offer service in a spirit of gratitude.

Councillor Parth Gupta, who represents Ward 6 in Panchkula, continues to share moments of cultural observance and community engagement with residents.
